WHO’S THE LOUDEST OF THEM ALL?

WHO’S THE LOUDEST OF THEM ALL?

As a human being living in this world and acquainted with its pattern, you can’t help but notice many things.

One thing I noticed that is happening in our world nowadays is that it is so loud. Several voices are clamoring to be heard. They are clamoring to get the attention of the crowd, including you and me, to promote different agenda. It could be the voice of politics, religions, philosophy, health and wealth, cults, and different ideologies, that is existing in this blue planet.

I can’t also help but notice that in our Christian world, the voice of God and Christianity is not that loud anymore. Well, God can make it loud if He wants to, and the seven billion pairs of ears can hear God if He decides to do it. But He will not do it for now. Why?

Because God is expecting that those He commissioned based on Matthew 28:19-20, to make noise about the gospel. Unfortunately, nowadays, wildly few committed Christians are knocking themselves out to get the job done. And the generation of those handfuls of people who are loud for God is starting to pass away. One example recently is Ravi Zacharias. He is emphatic in defending the reality and existence of God and other things in our belief too. By the way, when I say noisy or loud for the cause of God, it’s not in an offensive way. But in one way or another, no matter how friendly and respectful the way we present our faith, people still get offended when we mention the name, Jesus Christ. People’s responses or reactions should not stop as though from going on.

In 1 Peter 3: 15, says, “14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;” (Emphasis mine) The word “defense “in verse 15  is “ἀπολογία  – apologia” in Greek. It means verbal defense or speech in defense. He is a person who labors to excuse or to make good his cause. In this case, making a defense of our faith and belief In Jesus Christ. That is where we get the word “apologetics.” I believe that we are all called by God to make a defense of what we hope and believe about God and salvation. What do I mean? It means that we should always be ready to explain our faith in Jesus Christ. Our faith in Him gives us the blessed hope that in His appointed time, God will accomplish His plan of salvation for all who believed.

So, the resounding question is, “How come many Christians are not loud anymore about their faith in Jesus Christ? To those who are reading this may be in “Facebooking” too. You know what I mean. Try to observe what people (especially those you know as Christians) are generally posting (loud about) in their timeline. And then ask, “Is God mentioned, insinuated, or acknowledged in any way?” And then ask this question also, “What must be the underlying motive of the person for posting?” Of course, I’m not suggesting that you tell the person, precisely his or her motivation for posting. You don’t know it for sure. It’s only for yourself to analyze what people are generally passionate about in making noise. Then make a conclusion for yourself about your findings. So, the last question that I would like you to ask yourself after thinking through your findings is that, “How can I help in a small way to divert the mindset of Christian facebookers to use this platform to make noise for God? If you are interested or convicted to share what’s on your mind, please share it with me. I will include what you think in the second part of this article. After two years of being quiet, this is now my commitment. To use my website/blog, FB, and twitter (I am starting to learn) to make the Grace of God known.
